Candidate for School Trustee

  • Lived in Surrey for 10 years
  • Graduated from UBC with a B.A. in political science
  • Married with a son in Grade 1 and a one-year-old daughter
  • Founding member of Save Our Daughters
  • Worked in community-based initatives to end violence against women
  • Worked in non-profit sector for the past 11 years

As a mother of two young children, I want to ensure that our children have the best environment for academic and emotional development. I am committed to working together with parents, teachers, City Council and Victoria to build more schools and fix Surrey’s schools crisis.

Ram Sidhu has been a resident of Surrey for the past 10 years. She is married and has two children, a son in grade one and a daughter who is a year old.

Ram graduated with a degree in Political Science from UBC. She has worked in the non-profit sector for the past 11 yearsand was a founding member of the Save our Daughters Coalition.

Ram is a strong advocate for women and children who are dealing with issues of violence, poverty and racism. She has also worked on many community-based initiatives to improve the lives of Surrey residents. She has organized two conferences for frontline workers of non-profit agencies and one conference for young women to learn  leadership skills.

If elected to the Surrey Board of Education on Nov. 19, Ram Sidhu is committed to working with parents, teachers and all levels of governments to improve our schools.
