Or I will cover the thing in tinfoil ( many layers)

I don’t see an important word in your outline, and it is one reason laws and enforcement are needed as to adding suites to existing housing, conversions. That word is “SAFE”. Nothing is safe without proper rules and enforcement. Far too many “handman” suites….I seen some of them, horror stores, someone will die from some of the electrical messes. Safety should not be compromised so the “affordable” word can be used.

Mr. Bose should be taken more seriously by the current council. It’s fine to develope with a clear plan of self sustainability, however, what seems to be taking place is a “knock it down and build it first” adgenda. Park lands must be clearly identified , properly zoned and protected.

Well said Gary. The last two sentences capture well what needs to happen, and it shouldn’t be that difficult nor take so many years to achieve, if we had effective elected communicators in place. It’s brutally obvious that the present Council, (with the exception of Councillor Bose’s diligent efforts) has failed miserably in that regard. I will say, having attended the last two City Council meetings, that the other Councillor’s (again with the exception of Bob Bose) are good at patting each other on the back, and get along great with Gordon Campbell’s side kicks. It was Councillor Barbara Steele who was on the committee to nominate Gordo for the Order of BC. Shame on her ! The Nov.19th Municipal Elections are coming and the time for change is now !

Councillor Bob Bose’s pointing out Surrey’s current plans to develop only 200 acres of parkland in the future is far far short of they own city’s long range plan that called for 6,000 acres to be acquired for park development.
